Biography

Elizabeth White was born at Kennet, Chester Co. Pennsylvania about 1732 to William White and Elizabeth Harlan. She married first, John Hatton. There were two children from this marriage, Mary and Hannah. In 1762, she married Robert Mendenhall. Elizabeth died in 1789. ^[1]

I question the birth date (1713) of Elizabeth White. Elizabeth married her first husband, John Hatton, in 1755, making her age, 42 at the birth of her first child with him. Her marriage to Robert Mendenhall in 1762 would then make her 49. Elizabeth's children with Robert Mendenhall were born from 1763 to 1772. She would have been 50 years old in 1763 and 59 in 1772. It is nearly impossible in those times for her to have borne 7 children after the age of 42. ^[3]. I believe the birthdate of 1713 is actually the date of birth of Elizabeth HARLAN,^[4] and that Elizabeth WHITE-18826, daughter of Elizabeth Harlan and William White, was born around 1735.

White-18826 parents, children and birthdate appear to be accurate. These profile should be merged and the birthdate of White 18826 accepted as the correct birthdate, regardless of the information posted atMendenhall Person: I25746 Elizabeth Harlan and William White Sr. did not marry until 1728, so their daughter, Elizabeth, could not have been born in 1713.
