DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Clarissa by comparing test results with other carriers of her ancestors' mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Clarissa:
White-30106 and White-27490 are not ready to be merged because: I DO see the possibility proposed by James Gunn that White-30106, and White-27490 are the same person. However there are a number of Clarissa Whites in the area (Vermont). I would like to see a marriage record for both, one: 13 Oct 1831 in Highgate, Franklin, Vermont to Bicknell, and the other 31 Oct 1831 in Highgate, Frankin, Vermont to Alford. I have NOT spent any time researching Clarissa, do not have a lot of interest in her. My ONLY problem stems from the fact that I have researched other people in Almira Larkin White's book and found everything to be very accurate.
White-30106 and White-27490 appear to represent the same person because: Clarissa White married Ammi Alford. Abundant evidence and documents show this to be the case. She did not marry Bicknell Cole of Noblesville, Indiana. The book in which this latter claim is made ( Genealogy of the Descendants of John White of Wenham and Lancaster, Massachusetts : 1638-1900) has it wrong -- and apparently shows little or no evidence to support the claim.
