A White Family Research Project has been formed. This Project focuses on robust documentation of descendants with the White surname who were some of the first settlers of Colonial Virginia, eventually migrating and becoming some of the first settlers in what would become the State of North Carolina. Many of the early progenitors of this line also become leaders of the Quaker movement. Y-DNA analysis has determined that descendants of this line carry the I-M253 - subgroup I-FT410059 Haplogroup and possibly immigrated from South Petherton, Somerset, England. Descendants of Thomas White d. 1761 are part of this group. Details of the Research Project can be found here: White Family Research Project.

Thank you Linda. We should work on updating the profile with I’m sure Dorris Ann Younts can help us with. Her father is a direct descendent and has documentation.
The current parents shown in his profile lack documentation and are not geographically relevant to Thomas White the known Quaker who settled in Perquamans, NC after birth in Isle of Wight.
Among the items linking him to https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/White-69968 are a Will that identifies him as a Son to this John and also identifies his sister Elizabeth Scott (married to William Scott in 1718, Isle of Wight County). William Scott is also shown as a participant/witness to the Thomas White/Rachel Jordan marriage in 1719.
Would it be possible to re-align him and add myself https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/White-57946 as a co-profile manager to this wikitree so that our team can work on updating it with documented information?
So on Geni anyways they think these two profiles are a match. Though it looks like the parents of Elizabeth White are listed differently on Geni and Wikitree. Geni lists her parents as John Newby and Magdalene while Wikitree lists Thomas Elbert Ellett and Anne (Bird) Elbert.
White-12121 and White-468 appear to represent the same person because: These profiles are clear duplicates, as is the one son, but the parents are more or less mismatched and need researching.
My name is Charles White and I have been researching my White family ancestors for many years. I am currently working with a group of family researchers with both documented paper lineage and Y-DNA testing who are descendants from https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/White-69968 (have recently created a wikitree page for him) and his sons John d. 1730 https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/White-3178 and Thomas d. 1761 https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/White-468. As I hope will be clear from the pages, we believe Thomas White https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/White-468 should be re-aligned under https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/White-69968 and an unknown mother.
