Penelope White's great-grandfather, William White, was the 11th signer of the Mayflower Compact. Penelope's grandfather, Resolved White, was a child passenger of the Mayflower in 1620.
"Penelabe Whit" was born 12 Mar 1687 to Samuel Whit [sic] Sr. and wife, Rebecca, in Rochester, Plymouth Colony.[1][2]
"Pennelabe" White married in Rochester, 31 May 1704, "Peroo Crapoo"[3] [Peter Crapo] He may have been born in Bordeaux, France, and he died in Rochester between 20 Feb and 1 May 1756. Peter Crapo married (2) Ann Luce 23 Nov 1738 in Rochester.[3] Tradition says that as a child Peter was shipwrecked on the coast of Cape Cod and given the name Pierre Crapeau. He lived with Francis Coombs in Middleboro.[1]
Peter's will dated 20 Feb 1756 and proved 3 May 1756 names his wife Ann; sons Frances [sic], Peter, John and Hezekiah. They are to provide for their mother-in-law [step-mother]; sons Nicholas and Seth; daughters Susanna Demeranville, Mary Spooner, Elizabeth Luke [sic] and Rebecca Matthews. Receipts from the heirs name the daughter's husbands: James Lake, Louis Demaranville, Jonatha Spooner and John Matthews.[1]
Penelope died before the second marriage of her husband, Peter, on 23 Nov 1738.[1][3]

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Penelope by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Penelope:
I have looked at all the Ancestry.com links and believe with the addition of the Mayflower direct sources and the records, these sources are repetitious and can be deleted.
Just wanted to post further on this line. The original tree that I uploaded had Peter Crapoo - this was the work of Chester Cowan who worked on a decades-long project for the town of Rochester, MA before his passing about 8 years ago. Because this is not my research, I cannot be certain that the Crapoo/Carpo information is accurate when compared to the work of others participating in this lineage. Can some of the other folks involved in this line please contact me either here or through private messaging and we can try to make sure which info is correct? Thanks in advance!!!
