US Quaker Meeting records of 25 Dec 1773 at Nottingham Monthly Meeting in Chester, Pennsylvania has a letter from East Nottingham Meeting to Hopewell, Virginia Meeting introducing William White and wife Sarah, along with under age children, John, Sarah, Margaret and William. This is likely William White and Sarah (Pugh). Her father John Pugh's Will was filed in 1760 in Nottingham, Chester, Pennsylvania.

NOTE: Many of the Records listed from Chalkley's Augusta County that were originally presented in this profile did not pertain to this William White, husband of Sarah Pugh. They pertained to the William White who married (1) Rose, and (2) Sarah. Although an effort was made to remove those records to avoid confusion, a few may have been missed.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with William by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with William:

This profile really needs to be cleaned up. As luck would have it I am the author of the book"THE ALLEN FAMILY - DESCENDANTS OF GEORGE ALLEN OF ENGLAND AND SANDWICH, MASSACHUSETTS." I also did research for the book " ALLENS - QUAKERS OF SHENANDOAH, 1636-1984" bY Rudelle Davis and Peggy Dick, and I am also the author of the book "THE BOND FAMILY OF ENGLAND AND THE UNITED STATES." Although the Allens and Bonds are intertwined in Shenandoah County, Virginia, the White family is only connected to the Allens through Ruth marrying Joseph Allen and their children, three of which married Bonds. In looking at this profile, someone took William White's first wife, Rose (maiden name unknown) who he married in Pennsylvania, and made her the middle name of his second wife Sarah (maiden name unknown) who he married in Virginia. Then they gave them the surname of Bond. Wrong, wrong, wrong. Also William White moved into Virginia with Ryley Moore and Benjamin Allen in 1734. If a surname could be placed on William White's second wife, the best probability is Ryley Moore's widow, Sarah. William's wives need to be corrected. Also the profile tries to be overly comprehensive with Quaker records. William White appears to have actually been Lutheran. This is supported by the fact that his first three children were all baptized on 8 June 1737 by Rev. Casper Stoever, a Lutheran Minister from Pennsylvania. As stated above this profile needs to be cleaned up to make it more readable and verifiable.

I'm looking at this profile to try to connect into my tree at some point. There's a lot of varying information here.

I think we know that, as discussed above, William was not a Mayflower descendant, as there is no record of the Mayflower Jonathan White having a son named William.

The best evidence indicates this is the Pennsylvania Quaker line, according to many church records I've found. If that's the case, his wife is actually Sarah Pugh... According to the same Quaker records, William's parents were John and Mary (Job) White... but this is not the Jonathan White from the Mayflower.

With all of this, I'd like to disconnect Sarah Rose Bond and add Sarah Pugh as his wife, as the evidence best supports, and add his parents based on the Quaker documents. I'll wait a bit, and if anyone following this would like to discuss, please reply. Thanks!

I do not believe this William White is a descendent from the John White Sarah Clare he is linked to. There is nothing in the John White Will d.1730 that indicates they had a son named William. I do have a direct Y-DNA connection to this John White. I would suggest Darrell White-28844 consider getting a Y-DNA 111 test to validate his connection to John White-3178 and I would be very happy to work with him. We have a group of about 5 direct Y-DNA dependents.

Hello Anne B,

I’m a possible direct descendant of William White and my research efforts with my DNA and now that you cut my lifeline off separating William from Jonathan, I have no direction to go in. Please can you run a comparison match with me and Jonathan & possibly Margaret Alexander, ok, let me know. My Dna # White-28844 Sincerely, Darrel White

I'm sorry, what I know about DNA would fit inside a teaspoon. I do know that the Mayflower Society does not accept this William as a child of the Mayflower descendant Jonathan White. You could try asking in G2G about DNA or I see Jonathan (son of Peregrine?) is on this list at FTDNA, https://www.familytreedna.com/public/white/default.aspx?section=yresults perhaps you can check yourself.

William born in Virginia according to the bio, was not the son of Jonathan White. Objections to disconnecting?

I found this reference from the Massachusetts, Town and Vital records linking a Jonathon to an Elizabeth (?Margaret Elizabeth Alexander) as a wife of Jonathon. Could this possibly be the same Jonathon? https://www.ancestry.com/mediaui-viewer/tree/39362492/person/28677740625/media/0dd354c9-decb-42b5-9ba4-6d4442be2b68?_phsrc=ODw723&_phstart=successSource
