The 1870 Census shows Isaac at the age of 16 with his parents, James and Elizabeth, and eight siblings living in Grant Township of Johnson County, Arkansas where James worked as a farm laborer. Living with them is Elizabeth's father, 66 year old Solomon Hogue from Georgia.[2]

Isaac married Margaret Arthur about 1889.

The children of Isaac and Margaret were:[3][4][5]

The 1900 U.S. Census had Isaac at 47 years of age and Margaret at 39 with five children living on a rented farm in Creek Nation of Indian Territory, now known as Oklahoma. The census report also revealed that Margaret had given birth to seven children, five of which were still living.[3]

The 1910 U.S. Census, taken May 4, 1910, listed Isaac at the age of 56 with his wife Margaret and six children living on a rented farm in Miller Township of Seminole County, Oklahoma.[4]

Isaac married Henrietta Elizabeth Holland (1858–1945) from Texas.

The 1920 Census, showed Isaac at 66 years old, with his second wife Henrietta at 61, and three children now living on a rented farm in Red Mound Township of Seminole County. Two of the children were 26 year old Ruth and 17 year old Roy from Isaac's first marriage to Margaret and the third was an 11 year old adopted daughter named Georgia Wallace.[5]

By the time of the 1940 Census, Isaac and Henrietta were both in their eighties, living in a rented home in the town of Paden, Okfuskee County, Oklahoma. Isaac was now retired from farming and their primary source of income was from an old age pension.[6]
