Margester White was born about 1861 or 1862 in Arkansas, the daughter of James E. White and Elizabeth F. Hogue.
Note:While listed as Margester in the 1870 U.S. Census, the original ged import suggests that her first name may be Mary.
Margester was listed in the 1870 U.S. Census at the age of 8 with her parents, James and Elizabeth, and eight other siblings living in Grant Township of Johnson County, Arkansas where James worked as a farm laborer. Living with them is Elizabeth's father, 66 year old Solomon Hogue.[1]
