William Whitehead Sr. was born about 1745 in Isle of Wight County, Colony of Virginia. His father was Jacob Whitehead Sr. (~1723 - 1785). It was believed that Mary Patty (Bailey) Whitehead was William's mother, but family researchers now believe this is incorrect. His biography has been updated to reflect the change.
