Biography

Birth

Anna was born about 1823 in Pennsylvania, the daughter of John Whitehead and Anna (Rhodes) Whitehead. She had no middle name. Her birth location in given as New Jersey in her death records; however, it is known that her parents were living in Pennsylvania at the time of her birth, and she is reported as being born in Pennsylvania in census reports during her lifetime.

Marriage

She was married 29 Jan 1850 to Francis Collins, in Trenton, New Jersey. ^[1]

They had six children:

• Frances
• Abbott
• Edward

The family resided in Penn's Manor, Falls Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania on a farm owned by them. ^[2]

Death

Anna died 2 Apr 1895 ^[3] which reads: "Anna W., widow of the late Francis Collins, died in Philadelphia on the 2d inst., in the seventy-third year of her age. The funeral will take place to-day, from her late residence, No. 600 North Forty-third street."
