Mary Fern Alexander BAXTER -- Funeral services for Mary Fern Alexander, 95, of Baxter, will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 19, at Baxter First Church of God. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. today, Tuesday, Jan. 18, and from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 19, at Baxter Funeral Home. Mrs. Alexander died Monday, Jan. 17, 2011, in Masters Health Care Center in Algood. She was born Feb. 8, 1915, in Putnam County to the late John and Iona Mae Fisher Whitehead. Mrs. Alexander was a homemaker and a member of Baxter First Church of God. Her family includes a daughter, Maryann Smith of Cookeville; a brother and sister-in-law, Johnny Alva and Bonnie Whitehead of Baxter; two sisters, Etta Dean O'Conner of Anderson, Ind., and Bonnie Alma Fike of Florida; two sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Libbie Whitehead of Florida and Bonnie Whitehead of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Alexander. Pallbearers will be "her special boys" Monty and Andy Hill, Charlie and David Johnson, Kenny, Bunker, Patrick and Mark Stout and Wayne Shanks. Bros. Archie Whitefield and Philip Marsh will officiate at the services.
