Biography

Ann, or Anna, was a daughter of Elizabeth (nee Stockton) and William Whiteside. It appears that she was born about 1755 near Whiteside's Branch of Mechum's River in Albemarle County, Virginia. She married Col. Richard Singleton who fought at Kings Mountain in the Revolutionary War. He died in the summer of 1807 in Lower Goose Creek, Clay County, Kentucky.

Some researchers show that Ann died about 1811 in Lower Goose Creek, Clay County, Kentucky, while others show that she was still alive and living in Perry County, Kentucky, on 17 Dec 1813. See deed record.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Ann by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Ann:

Whiteside-1541 and Whiteside-458 appear to represent the same person because: Looks to be same person. About same name and dates and married same man.

Are you sure she had a sister named Ann that was born 30 years before she was born ?

Whiteside-540 and Whiteside-458 appear to represent the same person because: William & Elizabeth Whiteside only had one daughter Ann, who married Richard Singleton in about 1770. Most records I found give a 1750 birthdate and all give the 1811 death.
