Biography

Mary Ann Whitfield was born 21 September 1817 in Lenoir County, North Carolina.[1] Birth date and place inscribed on tombstone.[2] She was the daughter of Bryan Whitfield.

She was married 15 July 1834 in Lenoir County, North Carolina to Gaius Whitfield, her cousin.

In the 1850 U.S. Census, Mary A. Whitfield, age 33, born about 1817 in North Carolina, was enumerated in Marengo County, Alabama with husband and children.[1]

Mary, age 65, passed away 10 June 1883 in Demopolis, Marengo, Alabama and was buried at Riverside Cemetery, Demopolis, Marengo County, Alabama. Death date and place inscribed on tombstone.[2]
