In the 1850 U.S. Census, Hepzibah Whitfield was recorded as 58-years old living in Monroe County, Mississippi with husband Hatch and their children.[1]
She died 22 June 1851 in Aberdeen, Monroe, Mississippi according to her obituary published in the Goldsboro Headlight in Wayne County, North Carolina [3]:
"At Aberdeen, Miss. on the 22d ult., Mrs. Hepzibah Whitfield, consort of Hatch Whitfield, Esqr., formerly of this county."
Note, consort was used during this time period to mean wife and companion. Her purported Find A Grave: Memorial #182225478 shows she died 20 June 1851.
