Susan (Whitfield) Howell was born in North Carolina.
Susan M. Whitfield was born in 1820 in Wayne County, North Carolina.[1] She was the daughter of Hatch and Hephzibah Whitfield.[1] Susan was married to Bryan Watkins on 13 September 1842 in Monroe County, Mississippi.[2]
Bryan and Susan were the parents of one daughter and three sons:
In 1850, Susan age 30, lived in Monroeton, Monroe, Mississippi Territory, with her husband and three children.[3] Her husband died in 1852. She was remarried 10 August 1857 in Monroe County to Wiley Howell.[5] They didn't have any children. In the 1860 Census, Susan and Wiley Howell were recorded living in Western Division, Monroe, Mississippi, with three of her children, Amelia, John and Briant Watkins (from 1st marriage).[4]
Susan died 30 June 1880 and is buried at Whitfield Burnett Cemetery, Aberdeen, Monroe County, Mississippi.[6]
