Sarah (Whiting) Farrington died, probably in Dedham, Suffolk County, Province of Massachusetts Bay, after she signed her Will there on 12 Mar 1733,[13] and before 17 Apr 1733, when her Will was accepted for probate.[14]
In her Will, Sarah bequeathed her only son, Jonathan Farrington, £5 and made him her Executor. The remainder of her estate (money, bonds, and "moveabels with in Doors or with out") she divided equally between her four daughters, "hanah bacher" [Hannah Beecher], Anne Smith, "Jemimah pamer" [Jemimah Palmer?] and "mary pamer" [Mary Palmer?], except that Mary should received £5 less than the other three, since she had previously received £5 more than her sisters.[15] Jonathan was confirmed as Executor on 17 Apr 1733.[16]
Research Notes
Birth date: Jordan, Genealogical and Personal History of Western Pennsylvania, Volume 1, Pages 148-149, mistread the Old Style date in the Dedham records and gave Sarah Whiting's date of birth as 3 Oct 1660.
Death date: In New England Marriages to 1700, Torrey provided a date of death of 1723 for Sarah (Whiting) Farrington. Her Last Will and Testament, however, is dated in Dedham probably on 12 Mar 1733 (the written number appears to be "tweluth")[17] and was accepted for probate on 17 Apr 1733, which would place her date of death between those extremities.
