Biography
Ayer Crouch Whitley was born on October 29, 1908 in North Carolina, United States, son of Ayer Manny Duncan Whitley (1884–1931) and Esther Calcina Mangum (1887–1984).[1] [2]
In 1910, Ayer C. (1) was living in Clear Creek, Mecklenburg with father Ayer Sr. and mother Esther (22). [3]
In 1920, Ayer C. was living in Mecklenburg, North Carolina with his parents: Ayer (36) Esther (33) and Ayer C (11); and his siblings, Johnson (9), Mary E (7), Mattie S (6), Philip (4), Clarinda B (undefined), and George W (1). [4]
Marriage to Orena P Walters (20) on 27 Mar 1932.[5]
In 1940, Ayer C. was living in Palmyra District, Fluvanna with his wife and son, Ayer C Whitley, Jr (0); and Orena P Whitley (28). [6]
In 1950, Ayer (41) was living in Palmyra, Fluvanna withAyer C Whitley, Jr (10); and Orena P Whitley (38). [7]
Ayer died on June 24, 1978 in Palmyra, Fluvanna, aged 69. [8] [9] He is commemorated at Monticello Memorial Park, Albemarle County, Virginia. [10][11]
