Biography

Julia Reca Whitley was born in 16 May 1901 in Nash County, North Carolina, United States, to "Thipp" and Dora (Strickland) Whitley. [1]

She married (1) Durward Finch in 1919 [2] who died in 1927 [3] and (2) John Henry Robbins in 1930. [4]

She had five children:

  • Julia Rachel Finch, born 15 Sep 1920;[5]
  • Eris Day Finch, born 16 March 1923;[6]
  • Augusta Lois Finch, born 12 March 1925, died 16 June 2023;[7]
  • John Lenoe Robbins, born 17 November 1931, died 3 January 1991;[8]
  • Janis Gale Robbins, born 25 June 1935,[9] died 24 January 2020.

Both her husbands were farmers. Julia and John's farm was on North Carolina 97 where Interstate 95 intersects now. The house was moved when the Interstate highway was constructed. [10]

Julia died 4 April 1989 in Nash County. [11]
