The birth of Benjamin Cyrus Ellis Whitmore was registered during the fourth quarter of 1861 in Leicester, Leicestershire, England. [1]
In 1883, Elizabeth Phair and Cyrus Benjamin Ellis Whitmore married. [2] Elizabeth and Cyrus lived in Otahuhu, Auckland, where Cyrus worked as a grocer.
Cyrus is listed in electoral rolls largely in Otahuhu, Auckland, apart from a few years when he was listed living in Devonport, and Grey Lynn Auckland. He was originally listed working as a grocer, and later as a clerk.
Elizabeth and Cyrus had at least five children together: Ella Jane 1884/14891; Christopher John 1886/4744; William George 1888/16856; Mary Frances 1891/38 and Cyrus Phair 1894/17437. [3]
Elizabeth died in 1894. In 1895, Cyrus and Elizabeth Dawson married. [4] They had at least three children together; Minnie (1901/13620), Roy (1904/14891) and Stewart (1913/6954). [5]
He died on 3 Mar 1948, and is buried in Otahuhu Anglican Cemetery. [6]
