Jane was born in 1859. The daughter of Sarah Bedford and Henry Whitmore. Married Samuel Williams. To this union was born one daughter. Jane seemed to be quite the story teller. The stories she told werent often true. She spoke to the newspaper about her father... giving accounts that her grandmother had passed away when her father Henry and his siblings were quite young.. After reading a letter from Henry's sister Harriet, it revealed that Henry's father had left the mother taking with him the three children from that marriage. Jane's grandfather remarried in Ohio. Her grandmother, still in New York, also remarried and had three other children. Quite a different stroy than what Jane described. So I am not sure how much of his story in the newspaper is the truth. It is still being researched. It sounds like Jane had a wonderful life. She had a loving husband. A beautiul daughter. She is fondly remembered. Jane passed away in 1949.
