Matthias was the son of Joshua Whitney and Joanna Unknown


Dorcas Vaughn married Matthias Whitney, born 19 April 1757 in Hancock, Berkshire County, Massachusetts, son of Joshua. [1]

He married firstly, about 1782-3, Dorcas Vaughan, daughter of David and Mary (Wightman) Vaughan. She was born 1762, and died 12 Apr 1793, Hancock, MA, aged 31 years.
He married secondly, 1793, Olive Doty, daughter of Silas and Susannah (Bump) Doty. She was born 12 Jul 1761, Amenia, Dutchess County, NY.

Resided Hancock, MA, Granville and Fort Ann, NY.
