Richard Whitt III was born about 1770 in Virginia Colony (possibly in Montgomery County where his father's will was written in 1807))[1]. An unsourced middle name of Thomas was initially proposed in this profile.
It appears Richard passed away before 1817 based on his last appearance in the 1815 Tazewell County tax list and only his wife being listed in 1817 lists and forward[1].
Marriage
Richard Whitt and "Betsey" Baxter were married in 1797 in Montgomery Co. Virginia[2]. Additional research is needed (see research notes) to verify this relationship.
Research Notes
Additional research needs to be completed on this marriage. Althea Boddy has proposed Betsey Baxter as the 2nd wife of Richard Whitt, Jr. (father of Richard III); however, Richard III is also a plausible relationship [3].
