From Historical Southern Families, book page 256, under Children of Eliza Ann Hasty and husband James Willis: William Robert Wills, b. 1/25/1861, Harris Co., Ga., m. Annie Elizabeth Whitten, 2/4/1886, in Chambers Co., Ala. She was b. 11/19/1866, in Randolph Co., Ala., and the dau. of Alfred Whitten and wife, Annie C. (May) Whitten. Alfred Whitten was the son of Lindsey Whitten and the grandson of John Whitten of Laurens Co., S.C. John Whitten was born in 1750, died, 1831. [1]

Lyndesy Whitten is mentioned in the Will of his Father John Whitten 3 Jul 1828, Laurens, South Carolina, Index and Will, Vol. 2, Books F, A, 1825-1853. Also, near the end, I do hereby constitute and appoint my son Lyndsey Whitten and Claxton Ray Sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament... [2]
