He was an American Revolutionary War soldier. [1][6][7][5][8]
In 1791 Elijah Whitten was the administrator for the estate of Ambrose Whitten of Newberry County, South Carolina, USA. [5] Their relationship is currently unknown but could possibly be father and son.
By 1808 thier family had migrated to Warren County, Kentucky. [5]
He died before 16 July 1812 Warren County, Kentucky, USA. [1]
Research Notes
No sources were found for another purported wife, Rachel (maiden name unknown). This Rachel apparently had a son named John Whitten who was born when Elijah was 16 years old. Researchers on GenForum have her husband's name as Thomas Whitten, or William Whitten.
