Charles Whitten Jr. left South Carolina in the early part of the 19th Century. He has been associated both with Lauderdale & Cherokee Counties in Alabama and Wayne County, Tennessee. By the 1830 Federal census he was living in Wayne Co., Tennessee. He also appears there on the 1840 Census but the 1850 Census lists his wife as "widow".
