Biography
James Whitten was born on 16 February 1803 on his parents' South Carolina plantation (most-likely in Union District). James was the child of Joel Whitten and Sarah Odell. He married Jane Smith (abt.1808-aft.1830) on 23 Dec 1830 in South Carolina. James passed away on 11 March 1853 in Kemper County, Mississippi, USA.[1]
