He was a pipe fitter, and they lived in Oil City in Venango County before moving to Illinois. Five of their eight children were born there. They moved back to Sugarcreek Township in Venango County by 1925 and continued to live in McClintockville, Pa, where Ira died on November 12, 1931. Myrtle died at Two Mile Run, Oil City, on May 4, 1952. They are both buried in Heckathorne Cemetery in Cranberry Township, Venango County.
