... then worked as a secretary during World War II on the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Alcon Highway Project. Mrs. Hemingway later worked as a purchasing agent for Sun Valley Co. and United Airlines. She married Jack Hemingway, son of Nobel Prize-winning author, on June 25, 1949, in Paris. She was 66. Mrs. Hemingway, the wife of author, businessman and outdoors-man Jack Hemingway of Ketchum, was born Byra L. Whittlesey on Jan. 5, 1922, to Horace and Byra Whittlesey in Pocatello.
