Census records indicate that Charles Wicks was born about 1834 at Yatton Keynell, Wiltshire.

He was baptised Charles Morgan Wicks on 28 Dec 1834 at Yatton Keynell, Wiltshire, the baseborn son of Matilda Wicks, a poor woman of West Yatton.^[1]

Charles Wicks married Catherine Currant in Q2 1854 in the District of Chippenham, Wiltshire.^[2] The marriage took place at Chippenham Register Office.^[3]
