Ewin Wicks was born about 1843 in Abingdon, Berkshire, England, United Kingdom, son of John Wicks (<1803–1851).

Ewin died in 1921 in New Zealand, aged about 77. He was buried in Clifton Cemetery, Bulls, Rangitikei District, Manawatū-Whanganui.[2] [3]
