Ewin Wicks was born about 1843 in Abingdon, Berkshire, England, United Kingdom, son of John Wicks (<1803–1851).

Ewin (31) married Elizabeth Ann Caulkett (31) (born about 1843 in England) in 1875 in Tubney, Berkshire.^[1] Their children were:

Ewin died in 1921 in New Zealand, aged about 77. He was buried in Clifton Cemetery, Bulls, Rangitikei District, Manawatū-Whanganui.^{[2] [3]}
