Biography

Elizabeth Betty/Betsey Wickwire was born to Peter Wickwire and Rhoda Scofield June 7, 1760 ”in the harbour of Horton, before the arrival of the inhabitants in the Township of Cornwallis”, Kings Co., Nova Scotia. She married August 8, 1780, Daniel Huntley[1] of Horton, a Cornwallis grantee who arrived in Nova Scotia in 1761,[2][3] and had 10 children. Daniel died at Horton in 1803, while Betsey survived her husband and was living in 1816.[4]
