Notes
Note N3167There is a Bartholomew Grogan living in Rockingham County in 1790 who has daughters. In 1800 his youngest daughter, age 10-15 is still at home. This matches up with the age of Edward's wife as listed on the 1810 census (16-25). Since Bartholomew is such an unusual name, and Edward named a son Bartholomew, this could be the father of Edward's wife. He is found just one page away from James Kelly on the 1790 census. Grogan is a Melungeon name.
Edward's first daughter is named Harriett, and James named a daughter Harriett as well.
I can find no independent listing of a woman named Kelly or Kelley on the 1850 census who could be Edward's widow.
