Abigail was born 1644, Boston, Suffolk, Colony of Massachusetts Bay.
She died 17 November 1730, Portsmouth, Newport, Rhode Island and Providence Plantations.
Abigail was the daughter of Samuel Wilbur Jr. and Hannah Porter. Both of her grandfathers, Samuel Wilbur, Sr. and John Porter, were signers of the Portsmouth Compact in 1638, establishing the first government in what soon became the Colony of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations. On 10 June 1666, she married Caleb Arnold, the son of Governor Benedict Arnold, and with him had seven known children. She wrote a will, dated 4 May 1725, which was proved 14 December 1730. Though there is no record of her burial, Abigail and her husband are almost certainly buried in the cemetery in their orchard where their son Peleg was buried (see discussion in her husband's memorial).
