Obituary

Funeral services for Mrs. J. A. Gaar, who died at her home on the Cooktown Road early this morning, will be held in the Ruston Presbyterian Church, Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock. The Rev. Thomas Davis will have charge of the service and will be assisted by Rev. R. W. Vaughan and Rev. J. J. Rasmussen.

Mrs. Gaar, the former Miss Betty Wilder, was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Samuel I. Wilder, among the original settlers of Lincoln Parish. She was born at the family homestead on March 26, 1866, and married there on March 20, 1884, sixty-one years ago. To them were born four daughters, Mrs. H. A. Woodward, lately deceased, Mrs. T. A. Hilton, Mrs. G. W. Braswell and Mrs. A. A. Hedgepeth. The grandchildren are Mrs. J. D. Murry, Ruston; Pvt. J. E. Woodward, U. S. Army; Mrs. L. T. Lewis, Ruston; Lt. (p.g.) Thomas Woodward, U. S. Navy; Mrs. W. F. Almand, Shreveport; Walter Braswell, Ruston; Mrs. J. M. Patterson, Ruston; Mrs. Norman Arnold, Baton Rouge; Sgt. J. C. Hilton, U. S. Army; Mrs. R. H. Keedy of Buffalo, N.Y. Among the thirteen great grandchildren is on in the service of the United States Navy, A-S Donald Murry.

Pall Bearers will be Walter Braswell, J. D. Murry, J. M. Patterson, Charles Terrell, C. C. Davis, Herman Wilder. Honorary Pallbearers are D. S. L. White, J. B. Tubo, Leon Manning, O. E. Foster, Norman Johnson, Ed Cook, Mack Cook, J. R. Hinton, W. R. Hilton, W. E. Brooks, A. A. Bernard, W. R. Cook, David Cook, Thomas Greer, J. C. Ross and Mr. Willis, members of the Lincoln Parish Police Jury.
