Obituary

Beverly Jane Watson was relieved of her pain and has passed to a better place on Tuesday, October 28, 2014, at Samaritan Bethany where she lived since January 2012.

Beverly was born April 6, 1925 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, daughter of Leon Levi and Laura Maude (Burbank) Wilder. She graduated from Rochester High School in 1943, followed by Rochester Community College Secretarial program. After which Beverly and a few friends went to Washington D.C. to work as Typists for the Navy Department. March of 1949 found her back in Washington working for the Red Cross. Beverly returned to Rochester in December of that year working as a secretary in Personnel at the Kahler Hotel.

In January 1957, Beverly married Roy Watson and began her career of homemaker, mother, hostess and volunteer. She volunteered with the Civic League Day Nursery, as a Brownie Leader, with Rochester State Hospital, First Presbyterian Church, and Rochester Methodist Hospital Auxiliary as a "Pink Lady" for 54 years.

Beverly and her husband traveled extensively with many good friends worldwide. She was caring and compassionate, never missing friends' birthdays or special occasions, was a great cook and fabulous baker. Chocolate was her passion!

As a mom she was always there for her kids, whether it was going to a rainy Friday night football game, sitting on cold bleachers at hockey games at Graham Arena, attending parades, diving & swimming meets. She was always there at midnight with "are you home?" Beverly is survived by her children, Kimberly Maude (Pat) Churack, William Wilder Watson (LuAnn Buechler), step-son Roy Steven Watson; grandchildren Kiley Jane (Will) Frank, William Jay Watson Wear, and step grandson Blake Watson; two brothers DeVaughn (Wilma) Wilder of Boise Idaho and Clark (Gail) Wilder of Colorado Springs, Co., many nieces and nephews, and special sister-in-law Judy Wilder.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Roy, step-son Michael Scott Knute Watson, step-granddaughter Shannon Nicole Watson, brothers George Darwin Wilder and Donald Bruce Wilder.

Beverly was a humble, kind soul with a whole lot of class.

The family sends heartfelt thanks to the staff on the 6th Floor of Samaritan Bethany and Seasons Hospice, for what they do, and especially, for how they do it. The family suggests memorials to Samaritan Bethany or Seasons Hospice. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 31, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes’ Chapel with the Reverend Jean Boese officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Grandview Memorial Gardens. [1]
