Biography

Theophilus Wilder was born at Hingham, Massachusetts, 21 Jan 1766, the son of Theophilus Wilder and Lydia Cushing; [1] [2] died at Pembroke, Maine, 2 Oct 1836, age 70y (g.s., Forest Hills Cemetery) [3] married (1) 1784, Mary Bridges, [4] [5] [6] born 3 Apr 1770, the daughter of Joseph Bridges and Mary "Polly" Moody; died at Dennysville, Maine, 20 May 1801; [7] married (2) at Hingham, Massachusetts, 20 Oct 1801, Hannah French, baptized at Hingham, 20 Oct 1776, the daughter of Theodore French and Mehitable Lewis; died at Pembroke, Maine, 2 Sep 1854, age 79y. She had married (1) at Hingham, 19 Nov 1797, Robert Waterman, born at Hingham, 17 Aug 1773, the son of Thomas Waterman and Lydia Lincoln; drowned at Nantasket Point, 6 Jun 1798, in his 25th year. Notes

Cutter, in New England Families, reports that all of Theophilus' children were born in Perry. It is more likely, however, that they were born in Dennysville, in that part later set off as Pembroke.
