Biography

Martha, whose maiden name may have been Wilder, was born in the early 1700s in, possibly, Lancaster, Massachusetts. She married William Glazier around 1720. She is said to have died March 18, 1775.

Residence

26 July 1730 Lancaster, Massachusetts. "William Glazier and Martha his wife" were added to the Church of Christ in Lancaster.[1]

28 Nov 1759 Willington Connecticut. William and Martha Glazier were members of the church.[2]

Research Notes

  • MAIDEN NAME: Although William Glazier's wife was named Martha, her maiden name may not have been Wilder. No sources about their marriage or her paternity are listed with her profile on FamilySearch. Sauls-238 19:21, 5 November 2020 (UTC)
  • Assuming that there were not two similar couples in this time period, William and Martha had several children born in Willington, Connecticut, both before and after their time in Lancaster, MA., and one child in Lancaster. So perhaps they were married in Connecticut.
  • the distance between Willington, Connecticut and Lancaster, Massachusets, today [Nov. 6, 2020], is just over 61 miles. [1] This would have been a non-trivial journey in the 1700's.
