Biography

Nancy Wilder was born about 1795, in Virginia.[1] Nancy was the daughter of William Wilder, and the name of her mother is currently unknown.[2]

Nancy Wilder was the second wife of William Falconer (also spelled Falconar). Nancy married William Falconer prior to 1818, in South Carolina. No marriage record has been found, and the possible year of marriage is based on the birth year of Nancy's first child, daughter Sarah Ann Falconer Dillard who was born 16 February 1819. Nancy Wilder Falconer was mentioned in her father's will by her married name "Nancy Falconer". [3]

Nancy Wilder Falconer and her husband William Falconer moved to Montgomery County, Alabama by 1826, based on William Falconer obtaining three (3) patents on the 1st of May, 1826 for land at the Cahaba Alabama land office for land in Mongtomery County, Alabama.

Nancy, her husband (William Falconer) and family appear in the 1830 Federal Census of Montgomery County, Alabama.[4]

Nancy Wilder Falconer was left a widow on the 7th of June 1840, when her husband William Falconer died in Montgomery County, Alabama.[5]

Nancy Wilder Falconer is listed as the head of household in the 1850 Federal Census, District 1, Montgomery County, Alabama.[6]

Nancy Wilder Falconer died in Montgomery County, Alabama on 25 June 1859.[7]

Wilder's will is recorded in Sumter County, South Carolina Will Book D-1, page 3; Bundle 102 Package 8. The will was recorded for probate on 31st January, 1823.

Nancy Wilder was never married to Jesse Baker. Nancy should be removed as Jesse's wife and the mother of his children. See attached proofs in her biography.

Wilder-1292 and Wilder-898 appear to represent the same person because: Both women are Nancy Wilder, both women lived in South Carolina. Nancy Wilder-898 has misinformation from the Wilder and Ware Book. See the biography section of Nancy Wilder 898 for a list of proofs showing that she was never married to Jesse Baker.
