Biography

Sarah "Sally" Wilder was born probably in Otsego County, New York in 1819 to Charles Wilder Jr. and Leah Romans. She's found first in official records living in the west ward of Newark, New Jersey with her two younger sisters, Alida Jane and Rachel. Sarah is 31 and has no occupation listed.

In 1852 she married Horace Osmun in Jersey City, New Jersey. Her parent's names are given in the record as Charles Wilder and Leah. Together they are found in the 1860 census living in Orange, Essex, New Jersey, where Horace is a shoe manufacturer. They appear to be well off as they have a servant girl living with them and their house is valued at $5,000.

According to Find A Grave, Sarah and Horace died the same year, 1869, in Allegany County, New York, and are buried in the Podonque Cemetery in Rushton, New York. There is no stone marking their graves.
