Biography

Early Life

Edward Wilder was born about 1619 in Shiplake, Oxfordshire, England, to parents Thomas Wilder and Martha (Higgs) Wilder.[1]

Some sources say he sailed on the ship "Confidence" with his mother from the port of South Hampton, and arrived in Boston, Massachusetts on April 24, 1638 [2][3], however other sources do not have him on the passengers list [4][5], and he had a land grant in Hingham in 1637 so he must have arrived in Massachusetts before his mother. [6] (better source sought)

Family

Edward married 01 Apr 1651 to Elizabeth (Eames) Wilder[6] in Plymouth, Massachusetts. [7][2]

His children, probably all born in Hingham, were:.[6][2]

Selectman in 1677.[6]
