One way to maybe confirm that the John Wiley Wilhoit was the son of Claiborne Wilhoit and Susana Philips is to get his Civil War Pension file, the whole thing. Perhaps one of the papers will confirm his parents or his birth date: If the Birth date is the same as the Bible transcribed below then we have our answer
Ok, I went searching through my records and came across a Transcribed Bible Record that may proves John Wiley Wilhoit was the son of Claibrone Wilhoit and Susanna Philips, unless there are Two John Wiley Wilhoit/Wilhites, which is possible. But at least we have a document that proves relationship for one of them, if there are two...

Is there any proof that Dr. John Wiley Wilhite married to Catherine Carter was a son of Simeon Wilhoit born 1780 (Son of Conrad Wilhoit) I don't see documentation for this except that they both lived an Campbell County, TN. From what I can see, he may have been the son of Clarborne Wilhiot and Susannah Phillips or the son of James Wilhite born 1808 in Kentucky and Rebecca _ _ _ _? Born 1812 in Kentucky who both died in Scott County, TN. Since is is hard to tell who John Wiley Wilhite belongs with perhaps, he should be alone until further proof arises. So, lets think about separating from Simeon Wilhoit and Mary Dew.
