Norman Stewart Wilkins was born in 1903 in Dowling Forest, Victoria, to Charles Andrew Wilkins and Ellen Mclellan Stewart, Farmers.
He married Olive Margaret Stephenson in 1924 at Ballarat. They had two sons Ronald and Cecil Allan. They separated in 1936 and Olive died in 1939 at Ballarat.
Norman Stewart married Pearlie Lord nee Dryden in 1939 at Shepparton. They both had two children with prior partners, and went on to have 5 children together.
Norman Stewart enlisted for the second World War at Shepparton 24/11/39 and had a very long war. He spent the first 11 months in Palestine. He then moved between Crete and Cyprus for the next 12 months. He was wounded in action a number of times though specifics aren’t given in the records. 30/09/1942 he was back in Melbourne and spent the next few years with the military in NSW. He was discharged on 05/09/1945.
During his life time his occupations were:- Engine Driver, Engine Cleaner, Railway Employee, Labourer and he spoke of being a Carrier driver during his court appearance in Shepparton for Olive's claim for maintenance in 1938.
He is buried at the Pine Lodge Cemetery.
