If the commentary on the profile of son James is correct, then Elizabeths husband may be a duplicate of John Coate. An Unmerged match has been created until this can be verified. Extract from Ancestrees:-
There is still controversy over whether or not John in PA was married once or twice to women named Elizabeth. On 12/3/1686, John supposedly was granted a certificate to Friends in England, and is listed as clear of marriage engagements. This is where the controversy develops. Our John was supposedly married at the time and his wife Elizabeth didn't die until 1720. This note might be explained by the death of his first wife and a second marriage occurring to another Elizabeth after 1686. Mendenhall in his Coate manuscript states that he had 2 wives. Charlotte Coates Siercks gives his wife's name as Elizabeth Ann Wilkins instead. It is entirely possible that the Elizabeth Coate who died in 1720 in Curry Rival, England was actually a second wife instead, possibly named Elizabeth Ann Wilkins.
