Henry Wilkinson was born in Ireland.

According to his obituary, Henry Wilkinson was born County Down, North of Ireland, on 5th March 1819, the son of the late Lieut. Wilkinson, an officer in Wellington's army, fought at Waterloo, served with Army of Occupation in France, and also a member of staff for the Iron Duke. [1]

In 1846, he married Sarah Fleming, in the Colony of Victoria. [2]

Death. Henry died 16th May 1903, at his farm, Arcadia, Victoria. His death was registered Shepparton, His parents were not recorded. He was 84. [3]

DEATHS
WILKINSON.— On the 16th, at his late residence, "Almond Vale," Arcadia, formerly of Kyneton, aged 84 years. A colonist of 63 years.
Safe in the arms of Jesus. [4]

In the aforesaid obituary, published in the Euroa Advertiser, his timeline was given as follows:

worked in a store in Melbourne
farmed at Merri Creek
caught gold fever and went to Bendigo, was fairly successful
engaged in carrying for awhile, with a six-in-hand, between Bendigo and Melbourne
married St James Church, Melbourne, by the Venerable Dean Macartney, to Miss Sarah Fleming (also a native of County Down) who died 1890
settled down farming in the Kyneton region
in 1870, came to the Goulburn Valley, bought the right to 500 acres in the parish of Arcadia
known as "Farmer Wilkinson", his opinion was well-respected; judged stock at agricultural shows
three daughters and seven sons survived him
funeral cortege to Kialla West cemetery comprised at least 106 vehicles and a number of horsemen

Burial. On 17th May 1903, his remains were buried in his wife's grave, in the Kialla West Cemetery (Dissenters Section J5); Sarah having predeceased him in 1890. [5]
