Biography

John was born in 1657, the son of Simon Willard and Mary Dunster. "John Sonne of mair Simon willard & mary his wife borne ye 12th febr. 1656" Concord, Middlesex, Massachusetts. [1]

"Jn° Willard of Lancaster & Mary Hayward of Concord were marryed by ye Revernd mr Joseph Estabrooke octobr 31st 1698", recorded at Concord, Middlesex, Massachusetts.[2]

"Mr John Willard Husband to Mary his wife died August 27th : 1726" at Concord.[3]

7. John 2 Willard (Simon 1 ) was born at Concord Feb- ruary 12, 1656-7; married October 31, 1698, Mary, daughter of John Hayward, of Concord. He resided at Concord. He died August 27, 1726.

Children:

i. David 3 , b. Sept. 9, 1699; d. unm.

33. ii. Jonathan, b. Apr. 28, 1701.

iii. Mercy, b. June 4, 1704; m. William Wheeler, of Concord. Children :

1. William Willard Wheeler, b. Dec. 24, 1734; grad. Harv. Coll. in 1755; went to England and was ordained in Episcopal church. Returned and was rector at Scituate and Marshfield; d. Jan. 14, 1810.

2. Mary Wheeler; m. Silas Walker. Child: Philinda Willard Walker; m. Dr. John Winthrop Babbitt.

34. iv. Simon, b. Aug. 7, 1706.
