Between their marriage in 1820, William’s death between 1860 and 1870, and Martha’s death in Aug 1879, she and William farmed in Cumberland County, raising at least 10 children: Esther; Mary J; Elizabeth C; Margaret H; David W; Alexander; William; Joseph; James P; and Qumay C “Hugh.”

Martha passed away in Aug 1879 of “sudden hart dropsy” in Black River, Harnett, NC at the estimated age of 80 years old.
