James Williams was born in Cornwall, England.

James Williams was baptised in St Columb Major 19 August 1542, the son of Marke Williams.[1][2]

When Elizabeth I called a military muster in 1569. James mustered at St Cullomb the Higher Parishe, arriving with a pike as a weapon. He was also reported to be a "better than able" archer.[3]

Buried in St Columb Major29 December 1577 [4]
