STROUD.
I very much regret having to chronicle the death of the wife of our highly esteemed townsman, Mr. James McIntyre, J.P. This sad event took place in Sydney, on the last day of March, after a very severe illness of over four months' duration. Mrs. McIntyre was removed to Sydney about eight weeks ago for the purpose of obtaining the best medical advice procurable. Four of the leading medical men were called in, but they pronounced the case as hopeless. During her illness Mrs McIntyre had a very tender and loving nurse in the person of Miss Emily McIntyre, her daughter, and it must be a source of satisfaction to the bereaved family to know they had done all that lay in human hands to relieve their loved one. The remains of Mrs. McIntyre were interred in the beautiful and picturesque cemetery at Waverley, being followed to the grave by a large number of friends resident and visitors to Sydney. The coffin was covered with beautiful wreaths and crosses, sent by sympathetic friends. Mr. Seaver, the member for Gloucester, was among the number who attended the funeral.
Stroud April 9, 1891. [6]
