Harriett was born about 1820 in Maine. Her parents were Francis Williams and Nancy Hayward. In 1850, the family was living in Somerset County, Maine.[1] In 1860, Harriett, single at age 40, was still living with her parents in Caratunk, Somerset County, Maine.[2]
