Charles Hoyt was born in Buffalo, NY on November 27, 1876. He was the son of Charles Grey Williams and Mary Lincoln (Hoyt).
Charles attended Heathcote Boarding School in Buffalo, then Harvard University where he was enrolled as a non-degree special student for four years. After completing his education at the University, he enlisted in the military and later worked at several different occupations before finally taking on the role of 'gentleman farmer' and took on the breeding of and raising rare chickens.
Charles married Florence Buchanan on November 3, 1903. Charles and Florence raised three children: Hoyt Insco Williams; Mary Lulu Williams; William Grey Williams.
Charles Hoyt Williams passed away in 1959.
