Philip Wilhelm (anglicized to Williams) was born in Swatara, Pennsylvania, the son of Heinrich Wilhelm (Henry Williams) 1714-1749 and Catherina Harmon (Hermann) 1720-1743 d/o Jacob Harmon. His father, Henry Williams immigrated to Philadelphia 16 Sep 1738 aboard the 'Queen Elizabeth'. Philip had one older sister, Maria Magdelene Wilhelm born 04 December 1741. Catherina, Philips mother, died in childbirth after Philip was born 28 January 1743. Henry, Philips father, remarried a few months later to Anna Elizabeth Scherp (Sharp) 23 August, 1743 in Lancaster Co, PA, and removed to Virginia in about 1744. The couple had two sons, Michael 1745 and George Henry Williams 1747. See Babtism's [1] Henry Williams died approximately 1748 in either Peaked Mountain or in the New River Settlement (Toms Creek), VA, leaving Philip and Maria Magdelene orphans, and half brothers Michael and George Henry fatherless. Anna Elizabeth (Sharp) Wilhelm, remarried to Augustine Price of the German New River Settlement in 1749. Elizabeth and Augustine reared all of these children, plus many more they would have together. (Also see Babtism's for Peaked Mountain Church [2] and Augusta Parish Vestry Book 16 Aug 1758). Maria Magdelene, Philips older sister, would later marry Augustine Price's brother, Henry Price (Preisch). Youngest brother George Henry later married Augustine Price's niece, Anna Margaretha Harless d/o Philip Harless of New River Settlement. Michael would marry Eve Barbara Summy from a German Settlement in North Carolina, and then removed to now Maimi Co, Ohio after the North-West territory opened ca. 1797.

Philip Williams himself married Gertrude Shell (Schull), d/o Jacob Shell (also one of the original German New River settlers) in approximately 1765, and raised a family on the New River and on lands he acquired in Sinking Creek Valley... just to the north of the original German New River Settlement in Giles Co. as did Philips half brother, George Henry. Williams-26684 and Wilhelm-1065 appear to represent the same person because: Please merge these profiles. WikiTree rules call for only one profile per person. Both of these profiles represent the same person.

Merge into Wilhelm. Family was still using that spelling when he was born.

Williams-26684 and Wilhelm-1065 do not represent the same person because: I will merge when I have docs for son Johan (john) Phillip about a supposed 2nd marriage. OR he is removed from tree. I know these John George are the same but I don't want to continue an incorrect line... My (Wall line ) has been so bastardized by the open system at wiki that I really have trepidations.
